Night Herping in Selangor
My second herping trip of the year. January 20th, 2014. It was one of the best herping trips ever! Just look at our haul and I am sure you'll agree.

A baby Striped Bronzeback (Dendrelaphis caudolineatus)
It bit my friend :D
Just another bird dropping, I thought, but I checked it out anyway, because, sometimes they turned out to be crab spiders in camouflage. This one, however, was a froglet! I was totally amazed.
After a little bit of research, we found out that this was a Wallace's Flying Frog(let) (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus). SVL approx. 10mm. Totally different from the green adult!
We even found one with tail.
Later the same night, we came across this!
Another mysterious frog we found at night. But it turned out to be a juvenile Wallace's Flying Frog (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus). Totally different from the green adult! SVL approx. 30mm
Adult Wallace's Flying frog looks like this
Wallace's Flying Frog (Rhacophorus nigropalmatus)
Only came across one Norhayati's Flying Frog (Rhacophorus norhayatii) that night.
Also came across one Black-headed Cat Snake (Boiga nigriceps). My second time seeing one.
Me holding that Boiga nigriceps
The star of the night, however, has to be this rather rare Cat Gecko (Aeluroscalabotes felinus)!
Too adorable :)
Two Spotted Litter Frog (Leptobrachium hendricksoni) next to one another on the forest floor.
We also found an adult Bell's Anglehead Lizard (Gonocephalus bellii). My first adult. Only seen a juvenile prior to that.
Gorgeous colors in the dewlap.
And finally, my first Malayan Horned Frog (Megophrys nasuta)
